On January 30, at the Kazan International Airport, with participation of Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of the Russian Post Nikolay Podguzov, First Deputy Head of Federal Customs Service Ruslan Davydov and Tatarstan Ministry of information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, the logistics post centre of Russian Post was launched in commercial operation.
The Kazan logistics post centre provides services to 12 million citizens. Supply and installation of equipment for the centre was carried out by the Italian company Leonardo–Finmeccanica.
The equipment makes it possible to process over one million postal items per day, including 150,000 parcels and international small packages. Investments of Russian Post in a project of the Kazan LPC amounted to four billion roubles.
The logistics post centre was built in 2016 and launched for the processing of federal post in 2017.
The launching of a new logistics centre significantly increases the speed of processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence and reduces delivery time of shipments to the recipients.
